Buried in snow (...seriously)

Well, it's been awhile since my last post...but I have valid reasons. With all the new real estate opportunities coming to life in Steamboat, we've been keeping very busy working with our customers over the past few weeks.

Additionally, Steamboat is receive snow in epic proportions. As of February 6th, the Steamboat Ski Resort has received over 350" of new snow. Not bad for a mountain that averages about 330" per season. With over two months of winter ahead of us, we are on pace for a record year of snow.

All this snow means one thing....snow removal. I've been running the snow blower 5 or 6 times a week. This past pay period, the city paid over 1000 hours in overtime pay to their snow removal crews. The walls of snow on the sides of my driveway are pushing 6 feet in height. Navigating the roads in Steamboat requires patience, as you can barely see around corners as a result of snow banks exceeding 10 feet in height.

Best of all...I have been skiing insane powder. My most recent adventure on Monday with my wife on her birthday treated us to freshies all day long. After a wonderful lunch at Ragnar's on the mountain, we skied West Side and got face shots all the way down. Not bad for 1:30 in the afternoon!

Ditch work, cut class, blow off all your worldly responsibilities and get yourself to the Steamboat Ski Area. This season is shaping up to be historic!
